On average, 6 to 8 sessions are needed, with an interval of 4 to 8 weeks per area. Men have coarser and thicker hair, so the treatment cycle may take slightly longer than for women. More delicate areas, such as the neck, sometimes require 8 to 10 sessions. During your first visit to our clinic, we’ll discuss what’s realistic for you.

Male body hair is coarser, denser, and thicker. That means more laser power and more passes per treatment. Areas such as the back and chest are also larger in surface area for men, so each session takes longer. The price reflects the longer treatment time.

One area, such as the chest, takes 10 to 20 minutes; three areas take 15 to 30 minutes. The entire upper body, including the entire back, takes 30 to 50 minutes, and a full-body treatment takes 45 to 50 minutes. Thanks to the MORI Vision’s wide treatment head, large areas are treated quickly, and you can get back to your day right after the session.

Gloow Ypenburg employs male therapists. This allows men to receive lower-body treatments in a comfortable environment. At the other locations, you can receive upper-body treatments. For a full-body treatment program, including the lower body, Ypenburg is the ideal location.

A diode laser targets the hair follicle with a single, specific wavelength. IPL uses a broad spectrum of wavelengths simultaneously and is therefore less precise, especially on coarse, dark hair. For men with thick body hair on their back or chest, a diode laser is more effective. At Gloow, we use only diode lasers.

No. At every location, Gloow uses the MORI Vision Diode ICE Quattro Wave: a diode laser that emits four wavelengths (755, 808, 940, and 1064 nm) simultaneously in a single pulse and continuously cools the skin to -15 degrees via an ice tip. Yes. The MORI Vision Quattro Wave uses four wavelengths (755 nm, 808 nm, 940 nm, and 1064 nm) and is suitable for all skin types, including dark skin (Fitzpatrick I through VI). During your first visit, we’ll precisely adjust the laser settings for your skin.

Shave the area to be treated 24 to 48 hours in advance. Do not use self-tanner or skin cream the day before. Avoid direct sunlight on the area for two weeks before the treatment. You will receive further instructions during your first visit at the clinic.

No. Direct sunlight or tanning beds in the two weeks before treatment increase the risk of skin irritation. If your skin has a visible tan or red tint, we will always reschedule the session. It’s best to schedule treatments outside the summer season, or consistently protect the area to be treated with SPF.

One zone costs €89 per session, and three zones together cost €109 at Gloow Ypenburg. The upper body (back, shoulders, chest, abdomen, neck, and arms) costs €119 individually or €449 for 5 sessions, which works out to €89.80 per session. The full-body treatment, including the lower body, costs €149 individually, €599 for 5 sessions, and €1,299 for 12 sessions, exclusively at Gloow Ypenburg. Yes. Laser hair removal, laser depilation, and epilation for men are all terms for the same treatment. “Permanent hair removal” and “permanent depilation” also refer to this. Men usually have their back, chest, neck, or shoulder hair removed with laser, or opt for a full-body treatment. The treatment and pricing are the same, regardless of which term you use. Please note: electrolysis is a different procedure, and Gloow does not offer it.

That depends on how long you want to be hair-free. Shaving is free but the hair grows back within two days, and it causes the most ingrown hairs on the neck and back. Waxing and sugaring last a few weeks, are painful on coarse male hair, and you have to let the hair grow back each time. Depilatory cream lasts a few days and quickly irritates the skin. Laser hair removal is the only method that permanently and significantly reduces hair growth: after a course of 6 to 8 sessions, you generally won’t need to maintain that area anymore.
